The current owner, Alfonso Guerra took control of the farm in 1980 and has made coffee his primary focus. He planted in excess of 150, 000 coffee trees in his first few years of stewardship and continues to replace 20% of trees annually. Alfonso is diligent in researching and implementing the most current and sustainable agricultural practices as he strives for quality. 120, 000 additional trees were planted in 2013 of a disease resistant variety as he seeks to guard against the threat of coffee leaf rust.
