We're very proud to bring this Typica micro-lot from La Mesa, a section of the Montey Copey farm with steep sloping hills and named with a generous wink, to Artisan Roast. It's a 'double fully washed' coffee in Costa Rican terminology meaning it's been wet fermented and then treated to a post fermentation soak. With the move to eco-pulpers and honey processing high quality coffees processed in this traditional way are very rare, and it's this merging of the tradition with the micro-mill innovation and drive for quality that makes this such a special coffee to us.
In the cup the high pungent floral aromatics of mango give way to succulent stone fruit flavours of peach, apricot with back notes of tangerine and red grape. A dense juicy brown sugar sweetness supports these aromas and a medium to high effervescent acidity supports the sweet juicy nature of this coffee.
