This is a fantastic microlot representing the very best of what Colombia has to offer. This coffee comes from a small, family run 7 hectare farm where it is grown alongside oranges, lemons and avocados. At harvest time, the beans are hand picked by members of the family at just the right time and it is processed on the farm before being taken to the local collection station for grading. You’ll find wonderful treacle and milk chocolate notes in the cup alongside some sweet orange flavours.
The body is big and buttery and the overall experience is of a wonderfully well balanced and comforting coffee. This is great as an all-day brew and it makes a really nice change from some of the more obviously fruity beans on offer. In espresso, it’s a real crowd pleaser but it also works exceptionally well in filter brew methods, where the sticky treacle and chocolate flavours can really be brought to life.
